In the message of May 25, 2025, Our Lady calls us to be people of hope, peace, and joy in this time of grace. She encourages us to pray to the Holy Spirit for strength, courage, and surrender, and urges us to live this time as a gift and a walk in holiness toward eternal life.
May 25, 2025 – Message from Our Lady of Medjugorje
"Dear children, in this time of grace, I am calling you to be people of hope, peace and joy, so that every person may be a peacemaker and a lover of life. Pray, little children, to the Holy Spirit to fill you with the strength of His own Holy Spirit of courage and surrender. And this time for you will be a gift and a walk in holiness towards eternal life. I am with you and I love you. Thank you for having responded to my call."
(With Ecclesiastical approval)
Reflection by Fr. James Williams
This monthly message is about being people of hope, peace, and joy. When we manifest these qualities in life, they transcend understanding and help us redirect the chaos in the world around us. These convictions are deep-rooted contentment that comes from knowing God loves us unconditionally. What a beautiful way to intertwine our hearts with God’s presence in the world around us. As we meditate on this message, let’s open our hearts to receive the grace it is meant to bring.
This message about hope, peace, and joy opens our spirit to exhibit God’s peace which is unlike any other. It’s not dependent on our circumstances; instead, it comes from trust in Him. When we find ourselves dealing with unexpected situations, it is God’s peace that guards our hearts and minds. His grace and peace fill us, allowing us to remain calm and focused, even when life seems overwhelming. God is always with us. We can rely on His strength during tough times. His peace is a gift that reminds us that we are never alone in our struggles.
The joy that comes from the spirit of the Lord gives us our strength. This joy isn’t based on worldly possessions but our relationship with God. It lifts our soul and transforms the way we view the world around us. When trials come and we are in right relationship with God, we understand that the situation is only temporary. Share this joy with others and show them the hope and peace that comes from trusting in His Divine Mercy.
An attitude of gratitude cultivates peace and joy. Gratitude is the food that nourishes the soul. Eucharist means thanksgiving. When we receive Holy Communion, we have a divine love fest with the Almighty. It’s the best time to thank God for His blessings and discover a sense of peace that transforms the heart. This shifts the focus from worry to a blessing that, in turn, fosters God’s joy all around us. After receiving this blessed sacrament, express gratitude by being joyful. This promotes an inner peace that radiates around you. This impacts everyone you meet and creates a more joyful atmosphere in the family and even in the community.
If anxiety and worry cause you to experience insomnia, try an exercise a fellow priest once revealed to me. It is called the ABCs of Gratitude. Instead of tossing and turning, go through the alphabet and with each letter think of something that you are grateful for that begins with that letter. Usually, you will not get even close to the end of the alphabet, because this method empties the mind of worries and allows peaceful sleep.
Our Lady says in her Magnificat that her soul magnifies the Lord. That is exactly what happens when we share God’s joy with others, our souls magnify the lord. Our relationships with family and friends become a source of immense joy. The Church encourages us to come together in celebration. When we gather at Holy Mass, celebrate Holy Days, or share a meal on one of the Church’s solemnity celebrations, God’s joy becomes palpable. These connections remind us that we are not alone; we are part of a community that supports and uplifts everyone. Participating in holy relationships deepens our joy-filled experiences and illuminates how relationships are vital to God’s message of peace and joy in our hearts.
Trusting in God’s mercy is fundamental to experiencing hope, peace, and joy. Saint Faustina encourages us repeatedly to place our trust in Him because He knows what is best in our everyday lives. When we surrender all to Jesus, times of uncertainty and anxiety turn to peace, hope and joy. Our Lady’s message is filled with wisdom. She makes life very simple when she says turn it over to God.
As we conclude our reflection about this month’s message, we realize how deeply intertwined hope, peace, and joy are in the Medjugorje messages. We reflect on the numerous ways that God invites us to embrace hope, peace, and joy, not just in good times but especially through challenges. His holy Word encourages us to foster an attitude of gratitude, cultivate joy in community, and trust in Him completely. Surrender your anxieties, rejoice and thank God in every circumstance. Focus on joy, hope and peace and carry the light of Christ as we step out into the world.
Our Mother is beckoning us to a deeper relationship with God; one filled with peace and hope and overflowing joy.
