Day 1: Sunday, October 18, 2026 – Departure from the U.S.
Make your way to the airport for your flight to Rome, Italy. Relax on board and enjoy meals and beverages as you begin your pilgrimage journey to the Eternal City.
day 2: Monday, October 19, 2026 – Rome: St. Mary Major & St. Paul Outside the Walls
Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Celebrate Holy Mass at the Basilica of St. Mary Major, with time for prayer and reflection. In the afternoon, visit the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner and overnight stay in Rome.
Day 3: Tuesday, October 20, 2026 – Rome: St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican Museums & St. John Lateran
Begin the day with Holy Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica. Afterwards, guided tour of the Vatican Museums, including the Sistine Chapel. Continue with a visit to St. John Lateran (the Cathedral of Rome) and the Holy Stairs (Scala Sancta). Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 4: Wednesday, October 21, 2026 – Rome: Other Major Basilicas & Holy Sites
Continue your pilgrimage with visits to other Major Basilicas and holy sites of Rome. Highlights include additional time at the Basilica of St. Mary Major and a visit to the Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem, which houses relics of the Passion. If time permits, enjoy visits to other significant churches connected to the lives of the saints. Celebrate Holy Mass in one of the basilicas. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 5: Thursday, October 22, 2026 – Turin: Our Lady Help of Christians & City Tour
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight from Rome to Turin. Upon arrival, visit the Basilica of Our Lady Help of Christians (Maria Ausiliatrice), founded by St. John Bosco, where the tombs of Don Bosco and St. Dominic Savio are located. Celebrate Holy Mass here. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of Turin’s historic center, including important churches and squares. Dinner and overnight in Turin.

Day 6: Friday, October 23, 2026 – Turin: The Shroud of Turin & Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati
Begin the day with a visit to the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, which houses the Shroud of Turin, believed by many to be the burial cloth of Christ. Continue with visits to sites connected with the life of Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati, a young layman known for his deep faith and service to the poor. Celebrate Holy Mass at a location significant to his life. Free time for prayer or reflection. Dinner and overnight in Turin.
Day 7: Saturday, October 24, 2026 – Flight to Rome – Stop in Greccio – Transfer to Assisi
After breakfast, return flight from Turin to Rome. On the way to Assisi, we will stop in Greccio, where in 1223 St. Francis of Assisi created the first live Nativity scene, transforming the hillside hermitage into a “living Bethlehem.” This tradition, born from the spirit of Assisi, spread throughout the world and remains a powerful reminder of the humility of Christ’s birth. Time is planned for exploring the site and the possibility of celebrating Holy Mass. Continue by motor coach to Assisi. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Assisi.
Day 8: Sunday, October 25, 2026 – Assisi: Basilica of St. Francis, Basilica of St. Clare & Saint Carlo Acutis
Begin the day with Holy Mass at the Basilica of St. Francis, where the saint is buried. Afterwards, visit the Basilica of St. Clare, which houses the original San Damiano cross that spoke to St. Francis. Continue to the Sanctuary of Spogliazione (Santa Maria Maggiore) to visit the tomb of Saint Carlo Acutis. Time for prayer and reflection. Dinner and overnight in Assisi.
Day 9: Monday, October 26, 2026 – Assisi: San Damiano & the Hermitage
Begin the day with Holy Mass at San Damiano, where St. Francis heard Christ’s call to “rebuild my Church.” Afterwards, continue to the Hermitage of the Carceri, located in the hills above Assisi, a place of silence, prayer, and solitude. Free time for personal reflection. Dinner and overnight in Assisi.


Father rob maro
Fr. Rob Maro is a native of Long Island and the oldest of four children.
After completing his Master’s in Theology and Christian Ministry at
Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio, he became the Director of
Religious Education at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish in
Chevy Chase, MD in 2002, where he oversaw the religious formation of
youth and adults for eight years. This would be the path that God used to
help him discern a vocation to the priesthood. Fr. Rob entered the seminary
in 2010 at Mount St. Mary’s in Emmitsburg, Maryland. He was ordained a
priest for this Archdiocese on June 20, 2015. His first assignment was at
Annunciation Parish in DC and then as pastor to St. Francis Xavier Parish in
Leonardtown, MD and to St. Joseph’s Parish in Beltsville, MD. Fr. Rob is
currently in residence at St. Patrick’s in DC, while serving as the
Coordinator for the Pastoral Care of Priests in the Archdiocese of
Washington. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, and
watching baseball/hockey games.
Day 10: Tuesday, October 27, 2026 – Assisi • Loreto • Lanciano • San Giovanni Rotondo
After breakfast, depart by motor coach from Assisi. Travel to Loreto to visit the Holy House of Nazareth, one of the most revered Marian shrines in the world. Continue to Lanciano, site of the famous Eucharistic Miracle, where the consecrated host visibly turned into real flesh and blood. Celebrate Holy Mass here. In the evening, arrive in San Giovanni Rotondo, home of St. Padre Pio. Dinner and overnight in San Giovanni Rotondo.
Day 11: Wednesday, October 28, 2026 – San Giovanni Rotondo: Padre Pio Shrine
Begin the day with Holy Mass at the Sanctuary of St. Padre Pio, where pilgrims can visit his tomb, the old church, and the new basilica dedicated to him. Learn about his extraordinary life of prayer, suffering, and miracles. Time for personal prayer and reflection. Dinner and overnight in San Giovanni Rotondo.
Day 12: Thursday, October 29, 2026 – Monte Sant’Angelo → San Giovanni Rotondo
Today, travel to the Grotto of St. Michael the Archangel in Monte Sant’Angelo, a sacred site visited by countless saints, including St. Francis and Padre Pio. If possible, Holy Mass will be celebrated in the grotto. Return to San Giovanni Rotondo for free time or additional visits. Dinner and overnight in San Giovanni Rotondo.
Day 13: Friday, October 30, 2026 – Return to Rome → Flight back to the U.S. (IAD)
After breakfast, depart by motor coach for Rome. Transfer to the airport for your return flight back to IAD, carrying home the memories and graces of your pilgrimage.


Father Larry Swink
Fr. Larry Swink is a priest of the Archdiocese of Washington, ordained in 2006. He currently serves as Parochial Vicar at Saint Bernadette Catholic Church in Silver Spring, Maryland. Born on the Midway Islands and the oldest of ten children, his vocation was deeply shaped by the example of his parents, both members of Opus Dei. Before entering seminary, he studied Political Philosophy at the University of Dallas and worked as a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley. In 2001, he entered Immaculate Conception Seminary and was ordained a priest five years later. Fr. Larry has served in several parishes as both vicar and pastor and is widely recognized as a dynamic speaker, retreat leader, and pilgrimage guide. He especially loves celebrating Mass, hearing confessions, and preaching, all of which are nourished by his daily hour of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. With joy and zeal, he continues to inspire the faithful to grow in holiness and deepen their relationship with Christ.
